Submit ManuscriptUMass Law Review prefers articles under 25,000 words in length. We will not publish articles exceeding 35,000 words except in extraordinary circumstances. At this time the UMass Law Review is accepting submissions for the journal’s 2026-2027 publications.
UMass Law Review prefers notes around 20,000 words. We will not publish notes exceeding 35,000 words except in extraordinary circumstances.
The Editorial Board usually reviews each submission within 14 days of receipt. Our Submissions Review Committee reads and evaluates all incoming submissions, and makes recommendations to the Editorial Board. Based on the Committee’s recommendation, the Board will evaluate the submission, and decide whether to extend an offer.
The UMass Law Review does not make exploding offers. If the Board decides to extend an offer, authors will be given at least seven days to respond.
If your article is accepted, the Executive Articles Editor will contact you by phone and/or e-mail with an offer of publication. Once you accept the offer, we ask that you withdraw your article from all other law reviews.
Upon acceptance of our offer, we will send an acceptance package that includes an instruction letter and license agreement.
